About Us
Our Mission
As artisans, skilled technicians, and animal lovers, we focus on delivering the highest quality grooming experience for the pet families we serve.
the dream project
Founded in 2020, Groomswell is the dream project of the Serpa’s, a local North San Diego county family who shares a deep love of dogs and a passion for improving lives within their communities. Mara and Payton Serpa have worked in the grooming industry for nearly a decade. They aim to elevate the craft of dog grooming while championing the physical, emotional, and career health of all employees.
Bespoke Solutions
Each dog has unique physical qualities and temperament, requiring tailored services based on its needs and abilities. Our staff members undergo intensive, comprehensive training programs to master the skills and procedures to serve each client successfully.
Holistic Approach
We seek to understand canine behavioral language, read signs of distress, identify potential health issues, and openly communicate any concerns to our clients. We refrain from pushing a dog beyond its emotional or physical limits, putting its well-being and safety above all else.
Continuous Learning
We provide ongoing education and advanced training opportunities, enabling all our staff to refine their techniques and grow their industry knowledge. Many of our stylists participate in national grooming competitions to further develop and showcase their talents.

With Love Carlsbad, CA
There is a direct relationship between good dog health and consistent, quality grooming. Beyond looking better, dogs typically feel healthier after a proper groom. It’s immediately noticeable. So, we do this work because making them feel better feels great to us!
